I love WikiLeaks and Julian, and it was so weird- the other day I was talking to my mum about it, and she was like, "Oh noes! That evil monster, exposing our country like that!" And I was like, "Mum. He's, like, one of the bravest people of the century."
I told her a little more about it and now she's okay with it. :D (Big Grin)

To everyone who thinks Assange is a bad guy for leaking information, here's a little quote:

"Truth is Treason in the empire of lies." -George Orwell

Awesome stamp. :)

Some people believe Assange deserves to be in jail.

"We are not privy to know these documents, by leaking them, he put the United States in peril."

What files could be so dangerous that he needs to be in the clink?

I read these comments and I all see people with weed in their signature. I must say that shit is for pussies, wannabes, and people who don't have a good home life there for they take it out on others. I've tried weed, I won't lie. That shit is addicting and it rusts your motherfucking think pan the wrong way.

They couldn't have found a more convenient time to launch a sex scandal.
Got to love the sensationalist media, always jumping in right on time.

Yes I think that goes without saying .... but even more so when you start looking deep into the specifics of it all - especially the background of Anna Ardin. She's one curious lady with some very interesting aspects to her life, leading one to question even more. Actually, question? No ... I'm convinced that woman is well aware of what she is doing.

I don't understand what WikiLeaks is... Can you tell me :O?
Is it some sort of a site which shows off all the secrets of every country? If it's so, then I'm against it. Because to reveal secrets of countries will make that country weak. It's like Warrior Cats (lol the example). If, for example, Thunderclan knew that Riverclan was weakened by their lack of prey in the winter (Riverclan's secret), then Thunderclan would grab their chance to attack. If it's not a site which shows off all the secrets of every country, well, then just ignore this x)

Let's just make a non-offending discussion from this, m'kay =)?

Hehehe ... ok ... that's cute.

Really, if you want to know more the best place to start is at the wikileaks mirror listed in my description above [link] but you may like to check out :devwikileaks-groups: here on dA to give you an overview to events. A fairly good news source for coverage relatng to recent cables released by wikileaks is The Guardian [link] - so you mite wanna check that out also.

In reality, wikileaks is a whistle-blower site ... half journalistic / half activist I suppose you could say. Basically they oppose corruption and crime in govts, positions of authority, and large corporations who have a lot of say in how things in society should go down. That's not to say they hate anyone with power - but they look to expose corruption, lies, and crime by such authorities ... in all govts around the world, yes, but mostly the US prob because as a superpower it has it's "tendrels in almost every country of the world" - as the site owner put it.

The story is much more complex than this alone, and something I would like to spend time explaining to you, but unfortunately I'm very very tired from my family christmas and just wanna lie down and sleep right now.

I would consider what you believe are the rights of a free citizen in your country and whether you believe your representives in your govt have a right to carry out crimes and corrupt dealings under a veil of of secrecy ... whether you believe in free speech and expression ... whether you believe the reputation of an entire country may hinge on the actions of these representives. And then, if you don't think they have such a right, whether you have the right to expose such actions (if you are privy to them) or what level is acceptable in which to demonstrate against such actions - and whether the perpetrators should be punished or have a right to protection because they are in positions of leadership.

If you would still like chat more about it, I am more than willing to oblige in the near future ... but as I said ... i gotz to get some sleep now.

Hope this helped to give you some idea of what all the fuss is about. :peace:

Back to this. I recently spoke with my mother about WikiLeaks. I'm now totally for Wikileaks! People have the right to know what's going on in their country!
